Both windows look out onto a rather imposing rock face. The designs were made to screen the view, and reflect the nature of the rock and the vegetation growing out of cracks and ledges. I wanted to try and capture something of the rhythm of the plant forms set against the cracks in the stone, and allow for an interplay between what is on the surface of the glass and what can be seen of the view outside. Colours were chosen by the client to echo natural hues with a preference for greens and the omission of browns. Most of the imagery was made by acid etching or fusing the glass.

To conserve heat, the bathroom window was encapsulated inside a double glazed unit, whereas the earlier hall panels have had secondary glazing fitted on the outside of the window frame.
